Privacy at Ordlek

Updated 17 September 2026

Ordlek is in development. Public play and purchases are not open yet. These pages describe the current preview and planned early-access offer.

Who to contact

Martin Mastermo Jensen in Norway operates Ordlek through Norwegian.app and is responsible for the personal data processed to run the game. For privacy questions or requests, email martinkontakter@gmail.com.

This preview page

You do not need an account to read this page. It has no checkout, mailing-list signup or game-progress collection. Product analytics are disabled on these Ordlek information pages. Hosting infrastructure may process technical request information, such as IP address, requested URL, device information and errors, to deliver and secure the website.

If you email Martin, your email address and message are used to answer your request. The contact link opens your email app; it does not subscribe you to a mailing list.

When you play the game

The current development version uses browser storage to retain guest discoveries and settings. Signing in connects progress and preferences to your account so you can use them across devices. Account information can include your email address, account identifier and details supplied by your chosen sign-in provider.

Gameplay records include discoveries, combination attempts, language preferences, pronunciation activity and feedback. Usage and generation records help operate the game, detect abuse, control costs and understand which features people use. Acquisition information, such as a referral campaign, can be connected to demo and purchase activity. Activity statistics are not treated as proof that you learned a word.

Reports may contain your comments, the content you reported and your preferred correction. Generated word content and approved corrections are shared across players; your account’s progress is kept separately. Avoid putting sensitive personal information in reports or generation instructions.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website. The game uses Convex for account-linked progress, shared content and operational data, Resend for service emails, and OpenAI and Google for AI-assisted word content, images, translations and audio. Generation requests include the relevant words, examples or correction instructions. When purchases open, Polar and its payment providers process checkout information; the game receives order and access information, not your full card details.

Providers may process data outside Norway and the EEA under their applicable data-processing arrangements and transfer safeguards. Their privacy information is available from Vercel, Convex, Resend, OpenAI, Google and Polar.

Purpose and retention

Processing needed to supply the game, manage access and answer service requests supports providing the service to you. Security, abuse prevention and operational diagnostics support the legitimate interest in maintaining a reliable service. Payment records may also need to be retained for legal obligations. Any optional processing that requires consent must be explained and offered separately before it is enabled.

Guest data remains in your browser until cleared. Account progress is retained for ongoing play unless you request deletion. Support messages are kept as needed to resolve requests and related disputes. Security and operational records are retained as needed for troubleshooting and abuse prevention, and transaction records for applicable accounting obligations. Detailed production retention and optional analytics settings will be confirmed before public gameplay opens.

Your choices and rights

You can request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your personal data, and ask to restrict or object to processing where applicable. Contact Martin using the email above; identity verification may be needed before account data can be disclosed or deleted. You may also complain to Norway’s Data Protection Authority or your local authority. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

This page will be updated when public gameplay and purchases become available so the information reflects the services actually offered.
